  • The Milky Way hovers over the setting moon at Crater Lake National Park. The moon really was blood red when it set probably due to distant wildfires.

  • Right after they shut off the lights at 11 PM the Milky Way can be seen over Mount Rushmore. Near the bottom you can see the profile view of Goerge Washington lit only by the leftover lights around the buildings and the parking lot.

  • This was my second attemt at star trails tonight. The first shot I forgot to turn on long exposure noise reduction. I turned it on for this image, but turned my camera off after stopping the exposure do the noise reduction didn't have time to work. I think it still turned out pretty good with a little tweaking in the noise reduction area.
